Nature and history is your thing? Than you cannot miss this hidden gem!
Soča river Valley is mostly known by its adventure type of tourism – rafting, canyoning, etc. But it is much more. Our opinion is, that this is the most beautiful part of Slovenia – regarding the nature. The emerald green Soča river, the mountains – it truly is something for the nature lovers. There is also a lot of history – theFirst World War was fought here. And it sure left its mark in this area.

HIGHLIGHTS
Ljubljana – Kranjska Gora – Vršič pass
Our first goal of the day is Kranjska Gora – best known ski resort in Slovenia with its surroundings. We will pass it and go towards the most famous pass in the country – Vršič pass (1611). There are many curves to arrive to the top of it but don’t worry – we will make some stops on our way. First it will be the Russian chapel – a monument from the time of World War I. and the second the rocky face of so called Pagan girl. No, no, no, we will tell you their legends on the tour.
Trenta valley and Bovec
Leaving Vršič Pass we will descend in Trenta, a horseshoe-shaped valley and stop in Bovec – a small but idyllic village in the middle of Julian Alps and also a starting point for hikers, bikers, and all other adventurists. Nice. Really nice. We will take a (lunch) break here.
Kobarid with its museum and Italian ossuary
Our next stop will be Kobarid – another small town, guarded by the mountains. Here we will visit the Italian ossuary from the big war. It is set upon a hill and it is final resting place for more than 7000 Italian soldier. Then we will visit museum and see how the front line changed the life of local people.
Most na Soči
Final stop of the day will be a small village called Most na Soči. “Most” meaning “bridge” in Slovenian and yes, you got it – there is a small bridge. But also a small lake. And a nice ending to a fine day.
WHAT DO I NEED FOR THIS TOUR?
